Toledo’s own Local 50 of The United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry will be celebrating the 125th anniversary of its union’s charter on Saturday, May 16, with an evening gala held at Owens Community College.
The special event will commemorate the many generations of Local 50’s plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC-R and welding professionals and their dedication to building up the communities across the region. UA Local 50 represents the best-trained and most highly-skilled professionals of their respective industries in the region, which is certainly worth celebrating.
From residential homes and industrial facilities to the most iconic buildings adorning Toledo’s skyline, the construction work of Local 50 has helped keep Northwest Ohio’s residents and visitors healthy and safe for 125 years.
In addition to dinner and dancing, the night’s celebrations will feature several guest speakers experienced with UA Local 50’s impact on the region, including U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur, Toledo Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson, and Toledo City Council President Steven Steel.
The anniversary event will highlight the union’s history and accomplishments, while also looking ahead to many more years of growing the communities in which UA Local 50 members not only work, but also reside and raise their families.
Congratulations to UA Local 50 on this once-in-a-lifetime event – here’s to 125 more years of helping to better our community!
