Students from Eastwood Middle School recently got an upfront education about some rewarding career opportunities and what it takes to become a member of the Piping Industry on a field trip to the Piping Industry Training Center.
The students had the chance to take an inside look at one of the top training facilities in the region and all its state-of-the-art equipment.
While at the PITC, the EMS students learned about the variety of career opportunities in pipefitting, plumbing, HVAC service mechanics, and welding. These in-demand careers provide rewarding opportunities for those who have what it takes to accept the challenges of the industry.
Apprentices, they found out, work during the day and then come to the PITC for further instruction at night. The training they receive, though, helps make the next generation of Piping Industry professionals experts in their fields. Students also learned that what they are covering in the classroom today is the foundation for the math and science Piping Industry professionals use on the job every single day. The students were encouraged to take an active role in all their math and science courses.
