The Northwest Ohio Piping Industry is playing a key role in Toledo’s construction job growth.
A Nov. 2 Associated General Contractors report shows the Toledo metropolitan area ranks 14 in the nation in construction job growth as northwest Ohio gained approximately 1,500 jobs between Sept. 2015 and Sept. 2016, for an 11 percent gain.
Toledo tied with the Steubenville, Ohio/Weirton, W. Va. area for the largest percentage gain in Ohio, although Steubenville/Weirton added approximately 200 jobs.
Other Ohio metropolitan areas recording high job growth included Columbus, which gained 900 jobs, while Akron and Dayton each added 400 new construction jobs.
Statewide, construction work grew by 2 percent, with an estimated 4,700 new construction jobs added over the one-year span.
