UA/EPRI Industrial Rigging Certification
The EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute) certification is a highly specialized credential required to work as a professional rigger or rigging supervisor on industrial sites, particularly in nuclear, coal, and refinery sectors. It demonstrates a candidate’s advance knowledge of load weight calculations, sling selection, and safe hosting practices.
This 60-hour course will cover best rigging practices and the proper set up and hand-on use of rigging equipment. This class is designed to prepare students to perform the rigging procedures required for the practical examination and written portion to earn the UA/EPRI Industrial Rigging Certification.
This course will review rigging safety, framework and crane signal person pre-requisites. Lab/shop demonstrations provide hands-on experience and knowledge of best rigging practices. The course requires a student to demonstrate proficiency in practical and written examinations to earn the UA/EPRI Industrial Rigging Certification.
An examinee must receive an 80% score of better on both the written and the practical portions of the test.
Certifications are valid for 5 years after which a recertification is required.
