Add the name of Wood County Commissioner Doris I. Herringshaw to the list of elected officials who have toured the Piping Industry Training Center and walked away highly impressed.

Herringshaw visited the training center recently and after her tour talked about the important role the training center plays in boosting the local economy.

“Skilled workers are essential for economic development and growth in the county,” Herringshaw said. “When companies are looking to establish a business or expand, there are specific questions related to the availability of skilled and trained workers. Education, skills training and certifications are important to the economy of the county and the region. The piping industry is an important, professional and dedicated part of the work force and is essential to our local economy.”

Herringshaw is vice president of the Board of Commissioners and serves on Wood County Planning Commission, Data Processing Board, and Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments Air Quality Task Force. She started on the Board of Commissioners after being appointed to fill the unexpired term of Tim Brown in 2013.

Located in Northwood, Ohio, The Piping Industry Training Center is a jointly sponsored Training Trust, committed to serving both Labor and Management of the Piping Industry of Northwest, Ohio. For more information, visit the website www.NWOPITC.com.
