Don't just make it a pipe dream - make it a reality!

Construction Complete at Holland Kroger

PI Kroger

PI KrogerShoppers in the village of Holland are enjoying their brand new, state-of-the-art Kroger Marketplace this month thanks, in part, to the Northwest Ohio Piping Industry.

Complete Refrigeration, a Piping Industry signatory contractor, was awarded the refrigeration contract for the recently completed, 124,000-square-foot superstore.  Six highly-trained and qualified professionals – including 2 apprentices – completed an estimated 27,000 man-hours on the project with an estimated valuation of $500,000.

Installed into the new store were display cases, reach-in coolers, walk-in coolers, and a refrigeration system that uses CO2, a food-grade gas. The heat created in the refrigeration process is captured and run through an exchanger before it is transferred to glycol, which is then pumped to hot water coils in the rooftop units for heating.

The renewable energy system installed in the new Kroger store will allow the retailer to reduce refrigerant emissions and decrease its impact on the environment. This technology has qualified the store for a platinum-level certification award from GreenChill, a partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency.

The store has created 80 local jobs in addition to Kroger employees hired from the recently closed McCord and Spring Meadows locations. The Piping Industry is proud to have played a part in this important project that will benefit grocery store owners and customers immensely.
