Piping Industry Takes Part in University of Toledo’s Engineers Week

As part of its annual Engineers Week to celebrate the achievements and regional impact of those in the industry, the University of Toledo recently held an Engineering Career Expo with the Technical Society of Toledo on Wednesday, February 25. The Piping Industry’s Brad Mich and Steve Stewart were on hand inside UT’s Nitschke Hall to help familiarize professional and student engineers with our organization and the steps we and the Piping Industry Training Center are taking to advance our industry.

“Each year, Engineers Week celebrates the many contributions of engineers to society,” Dr. Steven Leblanc, Interim Dean of the University of Toledo’s College of Engineering, said. “Our UT College of Engineering produces top-notch engineering graduates, and Engineers Week allows us to showcase our students. It gives us an opportunity to engage the community and local students in some engineering-related activities.”

The purpose of the Piping Industry’s visit to Engineers Week was to bolster relationships both with the University of Toledo’s College of Engineering and with current and future engineers by introducing them to the Piping Industry and inviting them to visit the Piping Industry Training Center. Prior to attending the Career Expo, the Piping Industry had already been in conversation with interim Dean Leblanc and his team at the College of Engineering, where they discussed future meetings and possible partnerships.

The Piping Industry was happy to accept the College of Engineering’s invitation to attend the Engineering Career Expo. The Piping Industry, the Technical Society of Toledo, and the University of Toledo’s College of Engineering look forward to forming strong, mutually-beneficial relationships, now, and in the future.
